Laptop Bag Round-Up
Starting in January, I will be working on a company laptop and doing some traveling. By default, corporate laptops come in the standard, nondescript black laptop briefcase. You can tell that a man in the IT Department picked out these cases. Um, no, definitely not for me.
I decided that I need, not only a well-appointed desk, but a well-appointed mobile office as well. Here are the 10 best laptop bags, sleeves or totes that I found. The only condition is that each of these bags needed to fit a 15” MacBookPro. Prices ranges from under $100 to over $200 (the price for a good bag knows no bounds).
1. Janine King Designs Laptop Bag Sleeve $89
These bags are made-to-order and are available in many sizes.
2. Sumdex Jacqueline Laptop Tote $69.99
3. Elif Roselle Laptop Tote made of genuine croc-embossed patent leather $210
4. Timbuk2 Stockton Laptop Tote $85
I’ve been a long-time fan of Timbuk2. I have the regular tote and its one of my favorites. The Stockton laptop tote adds the padded center compartment for a laptop.
5. Womensgirl Laptop Bag $53
Made from Japanese printed cotton, this is a slim simple solution.
6. Rickshaw Bags Commuter 2.0 $150
Rickshaw Bags has created a great laptop option. Can be purchased off-the-shelf or fully customized with their array of fabrics and bindings. Check out the video to see how thoughtfully constructed the Commuter 2.0 is.
7. McKlein Deerfield Laptop Tote $144
Sleek leather tote that can hold up to a 17” laptop.
8.Kailo Chic $69.99
Made from environmentally friendly canvas in a fun print, this bag looks more like an everday tote than the standard laptop bag. Zippered pocket on the back allows the bag to slip over the handles of a wheelie suitcase.
9. Jane Marvel Laminated Laptop Sleeve $71
Simple sleeve made from coated canvas with a detachable strap.
and finally,
10. Timbuk2 Custom Laptop Messenger $165+
Choose from over 50 fabrics, binding and liner color, then add-on strap pads, diddy bags or a beerdaleer making this the ultimate messenger. While not as “executive” as some of my other finds, the Timbuk2 bags are durable and can be made to be 100% you.

What a wonderful little creation! It’s a portable speaker for iPod, iPhone or other portable device that fits on your keychain. I don’t read Japanese so I don’t know any details, but it sure looks like a great gift!
