Endless, known for its notebooks, has added a new line of leather pen cases called the Companion Pen Pouch. These full-grain leather cases are available in three sizes: 2-Pen, 3-Pen and 5-Pen that range in prices from $40 to $50 depending on size.
The Companion pen pouches all ship in sturdy boxes. The largest, 5-pen size includes a pocket notebook that fits into the slot on one side of the case. All cases include elastic loops that have a pull tab that makes it possible to adjust how wide or narrow the loops are to accommodate a wide array of pens.
The zippers are metal and slide smoothly. The leather is smooth but will show scratches but can be rubbed out with your fingers or you can just let it get rough and worn with age.
There are minor feature differences in each design. The 2-Pen Companion has no pockets on one side but there is an elastic loop in the spine area designed to hold one extra ink cartridge but I found that it would also hold my Traveler’s bullet pen that I use for ink testing.
The 3-pen Companion includes a secretary pocket with three business card slots. It also has the loop along the spine for a cartridge.
This close-up image above shows that I was able to put two very slender pens (sometimes the most difficult to keep in a pen case with elastics) as well as a big, chonky BENU Skull & Roses pen and they are all snug and safe.
The largest case is the 5-Pen Companion and, being the largest, its easier to see how imperfections or scratches will show on the leather but its still lovely.
Once again, I made an effort to fill the case with pens that are of widely different widths. It took a few minutes to pull the elastic snug on all the pens so once you have it set up, you will want to remember which slot the skinny pens goes into versus where the wider pens are placed. So, for me, the Pilot Cavalier will always need to be on the outside and the Carolina Pen Co. (pale pink) will need to go closest to the spine. The 5-pen Companion also has the loop along the spine for a cartridge but could be used for a slim pencil or other tool as well.
The 5-pen Companion includes the small Storyboard cahier with dot grid and Endless’s Regalia paper.
The design of these cases are excellent, the materials and the functionality. They are a bit longer than what I need as my pens tend to be on the smallish side but I do think these cases will accommodate most pens in your collection. I think the Platinum Desk Pen was a bit too long for it but that’s on the outside edges of sizes.

I love the 5 pen companion with the story board. I just got back into fountain pens. My favorite one right now is the Sailor 1911 Compass (I’m on a budget). It has a f/m nib which I hated at first and then grew to love it! Funny how that happens. Enjoy reading your blog and I hope you have a great day!!
My favorite is the 5-pen case, because I love having room for a little notebook! The thing I love about leather is that the more battered it gets, the more beautiful it usually is. 🙂
I think the 3 pen holder has the configuration that I like the best.
The pen holder that is most appealing to me is the 5-Pen Companion. Five pens to take “on the go” is a perfect amount of fountain pens variation. It’s frustrating when my pen holders only accept one size pen. These holders are brilliant giving the user the most flexibility.
Oh golly, I love them all! But if I had to choose I’d probably pick the 3-pen option; they’re all terrific. As a knitter, I’d probably also repurpose them as notions and/or knitting notes holders.
Very nice looking pen cases! For me, I think the 3 pen case would be a nice size (not too small, not too big).
I guess I really like the 3 pen pouch this way I could carry a fountain pen,a ballpoint pen,and a pencil to cover all the bases. Thanks for the chance to win one.
Well, I want the 5 pen case just because I’m distracted by all the pretty pink pens! lol. However, I think the 3 pen case looks like it would be the most useful for me as I rarely travel with more than 3 writing tools, and I like the little pocket – I’m always forgetting to carry my business cards!
I like the features of the 3-pen case — especially the small spine loop for an ink cartridge.
The 5-pen Companion is of most interest to me because of the space for the included notebook (never can have too many notebooks around after all). Thanks so much for doing the giveaway.
Best of luck to all.
I particularly like the 5 pen one, because it will fit a small journal also. Thanks for doing this.
Love the handy notebook in the 5-pen holder; however since I am a pen & pencil hoarder (oops, make collector), I could find a use for each one of the holders!
I like the five pen with room for the notebook. I own exactly five fountains so they could all live together in this snug case.
What gorgeous cases! The five pen case is very tempting, but I find that I typically use just two pens at a sitting (for the contrast of two different inks), so the two-pen case would probably be more my speed. Plus, I try to keep my purse on the small side. Thanks for the review and giveaway! (And all your lovely posts!)
I really like the three-pen holder. And if I’m carrying just two pens, I could put my Burt Bee’s lip balm in the third holder. Many thanks!
These look great! The 5 pen would be perfect for my edc. My current case hold 5 pens but has no room for a notebook, so this one would be much more useful. Thanks for the chance to win.
The small is too small and I have several 2 pen cases. The five is too big and I don’t carry that many pens out of the house. Like Goldilocks, the 3 pen case is just right!
I like the 5 Pen Companion because of the notebook.
I like the 2 Pen Companion best. It would suit me just right, as Goldilocks said of Baby Bear’s chair, porridge, and bed.
Ohhh, the 2 -pen case would make a perfect every day, minimalistic, carry for me.
All the pen cases are beautiful, but I would prefer the 5 pen Companion. Thanks for another giveaway Ana!
I like the 3-pen companion because it would force me to limit the number of pens I carry. The 5-pen companion is probably more realistic!
I like the 2 Pen Companion best, too. I am trying to travel more lightly, and knowing that only two (well, possibly three) pens can come with might make me a more discerning user of my pens.
I also like the 2 Pen Companion. I am trying to travel more lightly. A case with room for two (well, maybe three) pens would be helpful.
The three pen holder looks perfect to me. Pocketable, with business cards for notes right there. For some reason, I prefer to keep my notebooks and pens in different containers, especially when having the pens under the left side of the book could make for a bumpy writing experience.
All three are nice, aren’t they? The five pen holder is nice to stack with books and the two pen holder is nice for in a bag. I love the spine elastic on these.
My preference would be for the three-pen variety. My main use for a pen case would be while traveling, and I can’t see a situation where I would need or want to take more than three pens with me on a trip. And having the card case would be convenient. The two-pen version is just too small to be practical (no better than my pocket).
I like the 5 pen companion. It will hold everything I own!
Wow, I love anything with compartments and storage.
That it comes with the small notebook is an added bonus
I guess if I have to choose between all of them it would be the 4 pen holder
But all of them are great
The 3 pen companion. I’ve started traveling with a couple pens lately and try to keep my carry small. The flap to hold business and swatch cards seems very useful. 3 slots also would be good if I’m buying another pen while traveling.
The 5 pen case is my favourite – I like the idea of having the notepad as part of the kit. They all look great though!
The three pen companion please! Thanks!
For me I think it’s the 2 pen case. I hate to admit in this blog, but I don’t carry many pens at a time.
I think the 3 pen would be the most used size for me! Thanks so much!
I like the 3 pen the best. I currently only have a larger multi-pen case, but I find that I only use 2 pens and a really nice wooden mechanical pencils for work. The business card slots would be great for my meetings with clients.
The 3 pen size is great to fit into my travel office. It would allow me to find the pen I’m always looking for but is on the bottom of the pocket.
I’d be delighted to try any of them, but the three-pen version looks like my favorite. It would fit in the side pocket of my backpack, and I bet I could fit something useful in the pocket.
I’d love the ability to carry around 5 of my favorite pens with a notebook! Sign me up for the large one.
5-pen! Always have to have choices even when you’re out and about, amirite?
Gosh, I like them all. If I’m understanding this right the elastic is adjustable. That’s something that I have never seen before, an actual innovation I would say. I agree with whomever it was upthread that likes the beat-up patina of a much used leather object, and I imagine that these would become really lovely over time.. For me, maybe a bit oddly, the two pen configuration seems like the most useful. The three pen had a card holder that I would be highly unlikely to utilize. The five pen is gorgeous with the little notebook, but again I think that I might not want to carry that much bulk in my handbag. So, the two seems best.
I’d want either the 2-pen as it doesn’t have flaps to interfere with the pens, or the 5-pen as that’s closer to the number of pens I actually carry.
Thank you for the opportunity & as always love the blog!
My gut says the three-pen holder, but I already have a nice one that size. So I’ll go with the five-pen size because it would be helpful to have the notebook right there.
All of the cases look super nice! I love the design. Don’t mind if the leather scratches. That gives them more soul! At the end of the day I’m all about that 5 pen case! Thanks for your generosity!
They all look pretty fabulous and I love that contrasting stitching on the inside. I’d chose the 2 pen case. Even though I think the stress of picking 2 pens (Do you pick different nibs? Do you make sure the pens look good together? Will your other pens feel neglected? Oh, decisions, decisions.) could send me over the edge, I think I would be up for the challenge. And there’s always some kind of therapy.
I love the three pen companion. The leather is lovely, and it looks like a perfect size. I just found your blog yesterday and am enjoying reading through past articles. What fun to find other pen and stationery lovers.
The 2 pen companion looks perfect for my very small, but growing, collection!
I think I like the two-pen case and the three-pen case best in terms of practicality because they match the colors of inked pens I am most likely to want to carry with me on the go: black and blue (2-pen case) or black, blue, and blue-black (3-pen case). Or, if I’m going to a conference and need to take a lot of notes, two or three pens in black and a backup cartridge, ballpoint, or pencil. It’s great that the loops are adjustable and the cartridge loop can be repurposed for other things too. I do like other colors of ink too, but pens with those colors are mostly used at home.
I love them all. I’m torn between the 2 pen and the 5 pen. I like the simplicity of the 2 pen, but I do love that the 5 pen gives you space for a notebook. I guess I’d go for the 5 pen just for functionality.
The three pen case seems the most useful. I would love to win!!
I love the 5 piece companion because of the storyboard notebook, since I always have a pocket notebook and a few fountain pens with me.
I always like to have options so I love the 5-pen case. And the fact that it fits a small notebook is an extra bonus!
I like the three pen case. Pen, pencil, highlighter, and I’m good to go!
These cases are lovely. I would
Love the three pen case. As I already have a 2 pen case, 3 pen case would be the perfect size.
It kind of depends on what I am doing. I like the concepts of both the three and five-pen configurations, but I suspect I would get more use out of the five-pen just based on how I coordinate my lifestyle.
I like the 3-pen case because it seems Just Right. The way you showed it holding slender pens made it seem like the one to consider. It’s not easy finding the right pen case. Thank you for giving these away. It’s very nice of the Ladies of the Desk.
I like the 5 pen case the best, because I’m ALWAYS losing either my pens or my notebook, so a way to keep them all together would be awesome!
Might as well go big and go for the 5-pen companion and then keep it in a Toyo Steel box for extra protection in my bag. That’s how I roll these days.
I came across these cases a few weeks ago and I really like the 5 pen case. I’ve got 5 pens that need a cozy, safe home!
the 5-pen Companion would be my choice… I always seem to be carrying a minimum of 4 but usually 5 fountain pens as I can never make up may mind which one I want at that time… and my notebook is always separate from the pens so the 5-pen Companion is cool having pens and notebook together.
The 5 pen with the notebook would be the one I would use the most. They all look like they have a use though.
I’d love the BIGGEST ONE because I have a lot of pens!!
I would think the 3 pen case would suit me to a tee. The only question would be how to pick only three pens and does the ink colour have to coordinate between the three 🙂
“We are generous but we’re not made of money.” I am sure I’ve read that bit in the giveaway fine print before but for some reason, it made me laugh this morning.
I have been using a 3 slot case from Nock Co (I think it was called the Lookout) for approximately forever. (I ran it through the wash the other day, probably for the first time. Turns out, it was very dirty.). Even though I’ve realized that I use 5 writing instruments regularly, adding another notebook to the galaxy of paper products in use around here is a no go. (I am aware I have a problem. I’m not doing anything about it as it’s a fairly harmless thing, but I acknowledge it may be viewed as a problem.)
So, in summary, if I win, I think the 3-pen Companion would be my choice.
(I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this rambling contest entry and I hope the underpaid and under caffeinated monkeys get a raise sufficient to cover an occasional banana latte.)
These are really beautiful cases, and I like the extra touch of a loop for an extra cartridge, which would be very handy if you are traveling with your pens and don’t want to lug along a bottle of ink. I am seriously tempted by the largest case but realistically I am unlikely to ever carry more than three pens at a time, so my first choice would be the 3-pen case.
Like them all, but the two-pen would get the most use,
I like them all, and each could be useful for different situations.
– 2 pens — Lamy Studio LX & Ohto 3-in-1 pen (red & black ink, & 0.5mm pencil)
– 3 pens — Swap out Multipen for my 4-color ink Lamy 2000 MultipenAdd in a Rotring 600 mechanical pencil, plus a few business cards
– 5 pens — Add in that notebook and a few more fountain pens with some fun ink colors
All of these sound great. Forced to choose, I’m a minimalist at heart and would probably go with the two-pen case.
I had given this a lot of thought. Probably too much as I was up before 3AM.
So, while I was waiting for the coffee and began to write in my bullet journal about what to do today, deciding the most I could decide before the caffeine hit was that I would start with coffee and toast…my mind went to food, I eventually went to all my favorite sites. Meaning, of course, the well appointed desk was the first one to visit (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
My initial thinking was a 2-pen case would be ideal. After all, why would I need to take more than two at a time with me?
But then the rest of my brain decided it had enough of my logical thinking and chimed in. It told me to go for the 5-pen case. After all, how would I be able to choose which of my favorites to take?
And if I won a 5-pen case, I would be forced to buy a few more. Otherwise, the others would feel neglected.
So, in the end, no matter which I win (I hope!) there would be more in my future!
I think the two-pen case is somewhat unique. That paired with a notebook (or a Plotter) would be a pretty solid portable kit.
Thank you for your work and the occasional giveaway!
It would be either the three or five slot options for me—probably the three slot if I had to pick one, but being able to keep a notebook in there is quite tempting…
I would love the 2 pen companion- perfect size for on the go! Thanks for doing this giveaway and for your great blog posts- I really enjoy reading them!
The 3 pen would work the best for me as I need the space for notecards. Truly appreciate the Well Appointed Desk reviews and postings. Would love to use you name for a brick and mortar but, alas, it is yours. ️
As tempted as I am by the 5-pen Companion (it’s the whole package, being able to hold some pens and a notebook), I have to go with 3-pen pouch. If I’m on the go, I feel like three pens is a good pool to pick from without the risk of getting bogged down in options. Having more variety is fine for at home. Now, if we’re talking about being away from home for an extended period of time, like on a trip/vacation, then the 5-pen pouch wins out.
The 5 pen companion would look great and fit nicely on my desk. I love having pen and paper readily available for quick notes and reminders.
Oh…the 3-pen case. Holds the essentials and can fit well into a multiple of bags. Thanks for the giveaway!
I like the 5-pen companion as it also a little notebook for bullet journaling or just taking quick notes plus it allows you to carry 5 pens with you
I’m a first time commenter : free the monkeys!
If they can’t be freed caffeinate them properly!
The five Pen case would be perfect for me. It would be a nice update to my current kit, and all my daily things would fit in one case instead of two.
Thanks for the giveaway and I love your site!
