MiGoals is most known for their diaries and journals but they also produce other products including their line of Get Shit Done notebooks. I got several of their A6 Get Shit Done notebooks ($4.77 USD) recently, not to be confused with the I Got Shit to Do notepads that I make.
On the cover of most of the MiGoals notebooks is a lovely debossed foil stamped “Get Shit Done” lettering. The notebook I tested had the lettering small, in a tone-on-tone look which was subtle and not so in your face that I couldn’t carry this book to work.
The cover is very heavyweight cardstock. Inside, is a slip sheet with inspirational info about MiGoals and the GSD (Get Shit Done) mission. It’s pretty charming and life-affirming. On the first page of the notebook is also an uplifting quote.
On the next page of the book are tips for how to tackle your daily to do lists. This may be helpful if you don’t have a system in place already. I also included the flip side of the slip sheet and the next page of the notebook which is what all the subsequent pages look like.
The interior paper is 100gsm. There are 48 pages in each book and the paper is a warm white color. At the top of each page is a place to add the date and the first three lines are numbered one through three for your top three items. If you want to continue to number things you certainly could. At the end of each line is a dot that can be used to check off or mark when the task is completed or migrated to another page.
I tested lots of different pens to see how the paper handled ink. The lines are pretty close together (about 5mm spacing) so I didn’t push to super broad points.
I went ahead and continued my writing samples on the back side which means you can see if there was any bleed through. No. That 100gsm paper is pretty thick and durable. There is no feathering either.
For size clarity, I photographed the A6 next to a Field Notes for scale. I like the A6 size. While it’s probably not back pocket pocket pocketable, the A6 fits nicely into the pocket of a bag.
The nice thing with the MiGoals notebooks is that you can purchase these individually instead of in sets of three like many other pocket notebooks. The paper is good quality and the covers are heavier weight than a lot of books.

The blue one would be awesome! I got a looong list of sh&t needing to get done, starting with endless summer kids’ activities stuff
Oh…I have all the things to get done. Including cleaning the front office so I can use it, recycle old computers, move my sewing machine, Bertha, finish a sekert knitting project, start new knitting projects, dethatch the cats (long hair cats + shedding + Midwest summer), get groceries, write more shit, you name it.
I’m not picky between those two colors, but I have a slight preference for black. But I wouldn’t toss the blue one out of my bed for eating crackers, you know?
I need to get a new job, doing something I actually like as opposed to just paying the bills.
I like the blue notebook. It’s in your face about getting it done.
So I really desperately need to clean up my kitchen and living room. And that blue is right up my alley.
I need one of these (preferably the black one) to help get my daughter’s college search $hit done!
Getting Sh*t Done is a crude name for a product. The visual associations are repellent. Would never buy it.
I have a writing project I need to finish a.s.a.p. I love both colors, but the black notebook is my favorite.
I have to move shit and pack shit and clean out shit….so much shit to do I don’t know where to start. But these notebooks would help me organize my shit for sure!
I like the black on black notebook. What do I need to get done, well, I have about 5 flats of flowers that desperately need to get planted, a couple of training powerpoints I need to put together, a speech I need to write, and the list goes on…
Oh, definitely the black one as I’m all about matching the stuff I already have while I get the boxes unpacked and the office finally organized.
I like the black one (don’t want a notebook with swear words clearly visible at work!). I’ve got tons of things to get done besides at work: fixing the garden, sewing projects…
I fancy the black on black but am not opposed to the vibrancy of the blue. Might stand out more — since it practically screams “Get Shit Done!”
I need to finish a pilot script, a spec script, and have the first 7 pages of a new play by June 28! It’s a lot to get done in a very short amount of time. In fact, I should get back to it!
I will be downsizing soon so I need to get a lot of shit done like going through boxes I haven’t looked in for years. Sorting what can be donated, what is trash, and what to keep. And then there is organizing all the papers… I like the bright blue for positive vibes.
Lordy mercy, I have a huge list of sh*t to get done! …clean the car, find another part time job ( cause my full time job ain’t getting it!)…renew my professional license, fix the bench in my yard, mow, and this is the short term objectives!… I would be delighted with any color. Free is super cool and “ beggars can’t be choosers”.
I have a dream of building a community to encourage and support women. I’m building this crazy idea from the ground up. There is so much to do! Come up with a name, design an identity (branding), schedule speakers, write talks, and probably a list of other things I can’t even quite wrap my head around yet. But inspired by Brené Brown, fueled by good coffee, and possibly aided by an awesome black MiGoals notebook, much will get done and a beautiful community of women from all walks of life will rise strong from a to-do list poured from my heart.
Black! I need to focus on my KPIs for work and play how can I have as many bbq parties as possible this summer? By planning carefully and getting that shit done! Love ya!
All kinds of everyday shit, but mostly to help organize an upcoming cross country move. Thanks for offering!
I need to get reviews done at work soon. Lot’s of prep work and these books would help tremendously. I like the blue but either one is great
Job hunting as I’m getting screwed. The back one would add a bounce to my step and a secret smile.
Black*
Oh goodness, what don’t I have to do? I’m starting my last semester of grad school in the Fall, and I’m a probation officer by day. Sooooo…..lots of violations to write, calls and emails to attend to, and different divisions of court to appear in almost every day in addition to my caseload. Anything that helps, helps. I’m not particular about color. I mostly see the inside of my notebooks and planners the way it is. Thanks for the opportunity.
Ana what a cool notebook! I’ve got a ton of shit to get done … just ask my wife. On TV there is a commercial that shows Alexa whispering… total BS because she can’t. But.. I want her to develop a southern accent. I think that would be cool and give her some charm. If I can do that I’d want to black on black notebook.
I’m all about that GSD life
I need to finish my current sweater- so I can wear it! And I need to re-organize the “art area” in my house. I need to clean fountain pens. And all the rest of the housework. 🙂
The blue color grabs my fancy, but I wouldn’t refuse the black if it came down to it.
Sometimes the best way to get shit done is to use subtlety and stealth, which means the black notebook is right up my alley. I’m a Human Resources professional with lots to-do in employee benefits, payroll, and wellness, for starters.
Thanks for hosting this give-away!
I need to get my clothes organized! I purged the wardrobe when I retired, and again after a few years. I rarely buy new clothes, but there is still too much, including boxes of items stored in the basement, all of which should probably go!
Blue, for sure. Got to find a way to scare off the gophers that eat all my plants… 🙂
What s#!% do I need to get done? I need to organize my f^&%ing To Do lists. And I could certainly use a bright blue notebook to help with the process. Thanks for the giveaway!
I need to start setting up next semesters study plans. Need to start looking into what needs to be done regarding a Masters degree. Financials of schooling. Lists of lists with nested lists. Chuck all that in the bin and just plan my trip to Amsterdam.
Black on black for my color pref.
I have to finish a paper in Bioinformatics, write an additional paper on Imagism, and finish up some character background stories for a D&D campaign.
Black on black would be lovely.
I love the blue notebook – and I have some much Sh** to get done to finish off homeschooling my 6th grader for the summer!
Love your blog!
So much work shit to get done! I’ll use this book to track experiments for the rest of the year. I need to breed mice to get a certain genotype. Since there are 4 genes to keep track of there will be many progeny! I like having one book per project as I can just reach for it and be ready to go.
I need to get my name/legal documents changed. I also need to finish my masters program. So much shit to get done. Also a haircut.
I’ve got so much shit that I need done that I don’t know where to start.
1. mop floors
2. vacuum floors
3. paint new bathroom door
etc…
I think I love this. I want a pink one. I need to finish 27 pieces of jewelry and set-up my site!
I have what I call the infinite to-do list, and unfortunately my current method makes it easy for things to fall through the cracks.
I would love the black one!
Oh my god I have so much sh!t to do… we just hosted a wedding reception for two dozen people at home and the house is NOT clean. Plus we have a room that needs another coat of paint, a carpet to trim, two dogs to brush, dog nails to clip, etc. etc.
I’d prefer the black one, by the way. Nice and subtle for having a name that unique 🙂
Oh, I’ve got shot to get done! Both at work and at home: grant reports, grant applications, building renovations, summer activities and house projects. And organizing.
Hmmm, so much sh!t to get done:
-Important sh!t
-Work sh!t
-Yard sh!t
-Honey Do sh!t
-wood staining sh!t
-car cleaning sh!t
-final exam review assistance for a highschool grandchild sh!t (and Algebra 2 is for me well, what would be a good word?)
-new home office design sh!t
-work journal sh!t
-reading notes journal sh!t
-some misc Bullsh!t
-And deciding which color sh!t. Both are cool, but the black notebook would be my choice. No sh!t.
Thanks for the chance to win one. That would be some wicked good sh!t!
As a minister the blue with white would raise eyebrows. I have an oncology appointment and the forms are about ten page of s t. VA has to pay it so why waste ink??
The black-on-black is charming. It really fits with my personal aesthetic.
I use to-do lists to keep track of my work and personal goals. Right now I’m in the middle of the KonMari decluttering process; believe you me, having a to-do list has been very helpful with that!
So many lists…so much to do! This is perfect for me to get it all done!!
I need to pay off my credit card debts and test out about 20 different inks!
I’d love the blue notebook to test all my blues and blue blacks!
“While it’s probably not back pocket pocket pocketable, the A6 fits nicely into the pocket of a bag.”
— Am I the only one to go to clothes shops with notebooks to choose my pants & jackets according to how pockets fits to my notebooks ? ^^
I’ve got half a dozen cover letters that I should be writing right now! (I hate writing cover letters!)
I’d love to win the black on black notebook so I could take it to my new job when I get one (and get to stop writing cover letters!)
I need to get started prepping a new class for the fall, and would love the blue notebook.
Thanks for the review!
Let’s start with the backlog of home repair and maintenance that I need to do or hire someone to do (and for the stuff I decide to do, finding all the tools).
Then there’s all the clutter that I need to purge, and the non-clutter that needs permanent homes in the house so when it’s out it can be put away.
Then there’s the craft projects that I want to make, and the WIPs that I need to finish.
Then there’s the sundry family appointments that need making.
I got sh*t to do .
Black on black, for lots of work shit on work shit.
Man I got so much stuff needing to be done! Got a book history class to prep for, and the packing for said trip, then when I come back from that I go to a big gaming convention, so there is that planning and packing. Returning from that I got a theater trip, and once again the planning and packing! (Then figuring out how to recover at work from all that away time!) Notebook wise, I think I’d go for black, as it’s more subtle, but I ain’t turning my nose up at blue. I’ll take any help I can get with my shit.
I have to get my s&@! together and get organized between home and work. That blue notebook would come in handy 🙂
In the immediate future I need to clear out the guest room so a guest can actually use it (in three days!). But mainly I need to actually utilize to-do lists instead of simply writing down the mundane I’ve done and then feel accomplished by it. And of course I need a new black notebook to do this.
I think of Japanese companies as so proper, the fact that Midori made this notebook makes me chuckle!
I’m an IT person at a library. The amount of shit I need to get done increases every day we’re open, I’ve got appointments, I’ve got sudden computer failures.Let me tell you the American public can do baaaaad things to a computer. I, unfortunately, have the attention span of a crazed squirrel whose had too many Rock Star drinks. I so need this notebook.
The blue one would be a great start on the long list of #%#^## I really should get done!
