Love this post!! ALL THE PURPLE!!!!!
Are any of these inks water resistant, water proof, or permanent?
No, none of these inks are waterproof or water resistant.
I just discovered an amazing thing on my blotting paper; while Lilac Wind and Violet Starling are apparently very close in his and tone (but they feel quite distinct?), they are built on quite opposite components, Lilac Wind has a magenta core with a blue Corona, which gives it, I think, a certain solemnity, whilst the nearly identical Violet Starling has a blue core with a bright pink Corona, which gives it a touch of liveliness! For ink and wash the difference is night and day!
This is a very helpful comparison, and it’s not even the full set! (I can think of Waterfront Dusk, River Twilight and Verbena off the top of my head, so there’s probably more still?!)
What a feast for violet fans!
His = hue!
