More moleskine hate in the links.
For my standard journal I love my leuchtturm1917, for the table of contents and page numbers more than anything else. I cannot imagine living without page numbers in a 250 page journal.
But I also need pocket notebooks, and I really like my cahiers. Hard cover pocket notebooks are too thick (and don’t lay flat enough unless I abuse the spine). Field Notes are too thin. And Clairefontaines versions of the utility notebook are too far away and cost too much in shipping.
Maybe it’s because I write in ballpoint. My handwriting has a cramped, neurotic “serial killer” vibe that does poorly with fountain pens.
