Featured in this assortment is an “On The Road” Penguin Books notebook, a pocket-sized Rhodia pad, a set of three Field Notes Expedition notebooks, and a Palomino Blackwing Pearl. Some items may have been used for writing tests and review but are practically new (or brand new in some cases). More items may be added.

To enter, just leave a comment and try to rhyme with the word “orange”. Easy-peasy, citrus peely.

FINE PRINT: All entries must be submitted by 10pm CST on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. All entries must be submitted at wellappointeddesk.com, not Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook, okay? Winner will be announced on Thursday. Winner will be selected by random number generator from entries that played by the rules (see above). Please include your email address in the comment form so that I can contact you if you win. I will not save email addresses or sell them to anyone — pinky swear. (Shoutout to JetPens and all the other nice folks who’ve given me samples to review over the years)

  1. If I win, you can ask “orange you glad?”. That’s supposed to be “aren’t you.”. I’d be thrilled to receive the orange goodies, despite the weak pun!

  2. Orange is one of my favorite colors!

I love the flowers of orange
Each and every one of their spores and
    Petals and leaves.

  3. Happy Third Anniversary! Thanks for reviewing all these amazing writing implements for us!

ummm I couldn’t really think of anything that rhyme with ‘orange’ so how about a joke!?

Q: What can a whole orange do that half an orange can never do?
    A: Look round!

LOL – anyway Happy Anniversary and thanks for the awesome giveaway! so…I looked it up and orange is really hard to rhyme and the only word is sporange.

  4. Morange! The word you say when you want more orange but you don’t have time to say all three syllables.

  5. Can’t peel your orange
    And you’ve got no wrench?
    Oh, you pour wench.
An orage in a teacup, you say?
Eat your porridge and get on with your day.

  6. If I had a wheel of orange,
also orange would be the flange.

If I had a wheel of green,
my car would be so very keen.

If I had a wheel of red,
I would have a foot of lead.

If I had a wheel of blue,
You would scream and yell, “Yoohoo!”

With my wheels each a different color,
I wonder if my car would hover.

  7. Orange is one of the most difficult words to find another word that rhymes! How about “sporange”….”orange you glad you thought of that?”

  8. EMINEM says: “If you enunciate it and make it more than one syllable — or-ange — you could say, ‘I put my or-ange four-inch door hinge in stor-age and ate por-ridge with Ge-orge.’”

ut I’d rather speak to Sir Gorringe about the sporange on his ferns. He lives on Blorenge hill. I can take him an orange basket, filled with oranges and we can make orange juice while using the fabulous orange office goodies you are giving away. 🙂

  9. Orange kinda sounds like a British person saying “door hinge,” right? Right? I know, that was a stretch. I’ll be away from the internet for awhile if anyone needs me…

  10. Owing to the the fact that orange = red + yellow, I submit the following:

    I’m just a guy
    An ordinary fellow
Who got it in his head
    To rhyme something with red
    And also the color yellow.

    Loophole 101 🙂

  11. Kaylee’s FAVORITE color. A child of orange, want’s to paint her room orange. I’m trying to talk her out of that one. She’d never fall asleep in there.
I once thought of having corange with my orange, but alas we lacked for forange.

  12. Why was the guy fired from the Orange Juice factory?
    Because he couldn’t concentrate!

Orange doesn’t rhyme with anything, but if I had cool notebooks, I could brainstorm better to figure it out. maybe.

or just come up with jokes. just as useful.

  13. If you say it as two syllables, “or-inge” then there’s plenty of things that rhyme with it.

    Orange four-inch door hinge porridge.

Though it doesn’t make sense, it works, verbally anyway. 🙂

    Thanks for these awesome giveaways!

  14. A poem about Orange:
    Orange is a bright color
    Combine red and yellow
    Its so beautiful and mellow
And its also a flavor of jello
Orange pens take many my dollar!!

    Lol!!
    The best i can do…
    Katie

  15. Doesn’t look like my comment went through before, so here goes (my apologies if this ends up posting twice – not my intention).

    Those luminous orange pencils
Could help me draw lines more tangential,
Or write prose as vast as the sea.

So for now I will hope
    You’ll bequeath this poor dope
    With notebooks of Vitamin C.

  16. My favorite color.

To quote Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel:

    Oranges poranges, who says,
    oranges poranges, who says,
    oranges poranges, who says?
there ain’t no rhyme for oranges!

  17. Oh, no! A rhyme with orange? That is a challenge. I cringe to think of it. Orange is a strange word. I scavenge my dictionary, rearrange letters, no luck. Now I won’t stop thinking about it! I must expunge “orange” from my mind!

  18. These lovely supplies are orange
I won’t put them in storage?

    ::cringe::

Yeah, I barely tried, but I love office supplies.

  19. Wouldn’t it depend on how one pronounces orange? Or-unge, are-unge, arnge? Not that it makes it much easier.

Orange porridge popped in my mind first, though it’s a bit of a stretch.

  20. I love the color, especially for summer nice and bright 😀

lol something that rhymes with orange, nice one xD

well…. an orange and a vitorange both have ONE thing in common, they both have vitamin C :3

  21. A bit of low grade Lewis Carrollesque but it’s been a long day…..

    A rhyme for orange
    may hinge
    on the baboon flange
    and if
    they need a syringe
    to get
    their lucky lozenge.

  22. This is so hard! I have zero poetic vein running in me…

Orange rhymes with range, and I love how you have a range of colors for the giveaway! And I’m trying to expand the range of stationery that I have.

  28. Knock, knock
    Who’s there?
    Orange
    Orange who?
    Orange you glad you asked?

I hope you will settle for a knock, knock joke instead.

  29. I’ve always liked the word ‘melange’, a mixture.
“Tonight, Chef has prepared a frightening melange of borage, porridge, and orange. And a sauce of shoe polish.”

  30. Isn’t orange one of those words that rhymes with nothing? Orange you going to be glad to pick me to win this giveaway 😉

  31. Hmm I don’t think anyone has mentioned the ever so popular door hinge! This is a great giveaway, I’m completely orange obsessed!

  32. You had me at “field notes”. Not going to spend any $ on them, but is definitely like to try them! That and the pencil 🙂

  33. an orange of four-inch diameter
is larger than most by the caliper
    if squeezed out for juice
    it will nearly produce
    4/3 π r³ ̶ r: parameter

  34. This is probably cheating, but I hope it makes you smile anyway…

I once met a robot so spiffy,
she painted herself in a jiffy.
    Mixing yellow and red,
    that modish android,
    was one very apricot missy!

  35. (All misspellings are on purpose)
    Little known fact,
the orange is originally for Norange (Norridge).
It is very tasty in porange (porridge).
They can be kept in Storange. (storage).

  36. I can’t think of many good rhymes for the word orange so I composed something else.

    All the gifts today
    From the Well Appointed Desk
    Bright shiny orange

  37. In the Southern US some people say “urn-ge”
Most Northern folks think that those people are sturnge
I think poor-spoke Rednecks are folks we should purnge
And to standard, real English we all should returnge.

  38. In order to enjoy a sweet orange ale,
I took an ever so brief detour in jail.
    What I was doing there is anyone’s guess;
Mostly enabling this rhyme, I confess.

  39. A girl from Blorenge / sits with her Orange notebook, sucking a Lozenge…. Hey a Haiku 🙂 Thats the best I can do as I couldn’t think of anything for Sporange, Botany is not my thing.. Blorenge is a hill in Wales

  40. She sat down with an orange
    on the ground near Stonehenge
    wondering what prompted the choice
    or whose demanding voice
chose monoliths over rocks that were four-inch.

  41. Going to make you cringe,
    I pronounce it or-inge!

    Like a bright sunny or-ringe.
And others have a nice tinge,
